A Lazy Person's Nightstand Skincare Routine

Not gonna lie, I spent a lot of 2018 in my bed (thank you, depression!). And in that time, I learned how to maintain a skincare regimen that required as little effort as possible. This routine requires no water, just a few products and some nightstand space. Let's get into it.

First up, is a makeup-removing cleansing lotion. I use two pumps of the Shiseido creamy cleansing emulsion, but you can use a cleansing balm of your choice or move straight into my second step...

Makeup-remover wipes! I use the Neutrogena ones in the blue pack. These don't irritate my eyes like other wipes have and it removes the cleansing lotion, along with any residual makeup. You can get them at the drugstore and they're bomb 💣

Third, is toner. I used the Milk Matcha Toner stick which is great. It's like a lip balm for your face and it allows my skin to balance out after removing makeup. If you're not a fan of the Milk Toner, Thayers makes toning towelettes that are pre-soaked in their famous toner.

After the toner is an optional step. When I buy The Ordinary products, I buy multiples so I have backups when I run out. But normally, I end up opening those backups because I wanna keep one in my room and one in the bathroom. So if you have the Hyaluronic Acid, this is when you'd apply it. But this isn't a crucial step in your lazy routine, so don't stress.

I had this routine mostly during the summer so my skin didn't need the extra hydration, but if you need that, The Ordinary Rosehip Oil is perfect. The 🌹scent is a little strong, but if that doesn't bother you, it's great for keeping your skin nice and hydrated.

To round it all out, make sure you use a hydrating moisturizer for both your face and your hands, For your face, maybe one with hyaluronic acid in case you don't have it on its own. Then it's like two steps in one! I use the CVS brand, Beauty 360, version of the Neutrogena gel moisturizer in the blue jar. For my hands and feet, I use Beauty 360 Daily Moisturizing Lotion.

And that's it! I'm able to hit all the major skincare steps without leaving my bed. And the best part about this routine is that you don't have to be depressed like me 🙃You just have to be incredibly comfy or tired and reeeeally don't wanna get up. On the regular, I wouldn't give up on your sink and Clarisonic, but for those late nights where you consider not even taking off your makeup, this is the perfect solution 👍🏼
