Usually I don't participate in the Sephora VIB sales because I'm typically broke and I also buy a lot of my skincare at drug stores (don't sleep on drug store skincare, they've got some gems). But this year, I had a gift card so I figured why not try out some things I've had my eye on?
I went into the sale determined to pick up a Milk Makeup Hydrogrip Primer. I have some samples and love it so I wanted to get a full-size. Of course when I got to Sephora, they were sold out of it. But there was no way I was leaving that mob scene empty-handed. So I strolled over to the sample racks and found three products I had my eye on for months, if not years.
1) Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask: This came in a mini 1 oz tube but it looks exactly like the full-size and my camera is incredibly grateful. Not only is this mask super luxe, it's incredibly photogenic. I've worn this at night before bed and my face just eats it up. It doesn't feel greasy or too heavy like a winter night cream, but it feels more substantial than a regular daily moisturizer.
2) Farmacy Green Clean Meltaway Cleansing Balm: The only other cleansing balm I've tried is the Clinique Take the Day Away Balm and that one definitely removes my makeup, But it feels greasy on the skin and like it's further melting my makeup into my pores. Based on this, I just figured cleansing balms weren't for me. But the Farmacy balm has gotten so many rave reviews from people saying it didn't feel greasy and their skin truly felt clean afterwards. Well they were right. This balm melts my makeup away and I feel like it's lifting the makeup off my face. It melts pretty much immediately but the balm isn't heavy or greasy and it doesn't feel like it's leaving a film on my skin. It also smells like lime sherbet which is a huge plus.
3) Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Toner: This is probably the most beautiful product I've ever owned. I've had my eye on it for so long and I was ecstatic that there was a sample size. I almost don't even want to use it because it's so pretty; there are real rose petals in this gorgeous amber solution. I just shake a few drops into my hand after my chemical exfoliator and it calms down any harshness the exfoliator left me with. It's heavier than my Thayers Rose Toner almost like a mix between an oil and a toner. But I love it at night before bed when I want my skin to soak up as much moisture as possible. The scent has the potential to be strong since the whole selling point is rose, but the scent is delicate and not overpowering at all. I've never had the guts to splurge on a Fresh product but this sample was reasonable and can tide me over until I have the funds to grab more things from their line.
So that's what I picked up this VIB Sale and with that gift card, I made out like a bandit. I'm so pleased with these choices and I'm even more grateful for this community because y'all have fabulous taste. All of these products are as good as everyone says! If you're interested in trying any of them, definitely pick up some samples to see if your skin likes them. You get a huge bang for your buck with these, they don't even feel like samples!
