My Unpopular Drunk Elephant Opinion

I know you guys are already mad at me from just reading this title so I want to start by saying this isn't a BAD review per se, it just isn't necessarily a good one. I feel like everyone I see on the internet is completely obsessed with Drunk Elephant so I was excited to try it. Lots of people have said the products worked wonders for their skin, which is super awesome and I am happy they found something that worked for them!

So after seeing all these amazing reviews and the cult following DE had I was really excited to try it. I even texted Halle one night ready to drop $90 on the minis set just to see what the fuss was about. She reminded me that I am broke and I decided she was right. Luckily though, I had a birthday gift from Sephora that contained two Drunk Elephant products, Beste No 9 Jelly Cleanser + Protini Polypeptide Cream. They were fine. But that's it. I wasn't as impressed as I thought I'd be. Maybe it was because I expected too much but I wasn't blown away at all. The cleanser was okay but it dried me out a lot. The moisturizer was also okay but I didn't feel like it gave me as much moisture as my dry skin needed.

I don't think either of the products were more impressive than something I could get at a lower price point. And as you guys know I am not against buying drugstore brands (shout out Ponds) so that's not an insult to more affordable products. It just means that the products didn't pack as much of a punch as I thought they would given the price tags and the quality I expected to come with them. Personally, I feel that a moisturizer that costs $60+ should do what a $9 moisturizer can't. It should blow me away. They did not work as well for me as other things I have tried. Now I understand that there are many other products in the lineup so this may not apply to everything and I understand that they work well for a lot of people, but to me they just weren't all that special. I would be willing to try more of their products but only if they were a gift because their line is outside of my budget and I wouldn't want to risk spending the money on products that couldn't give me the results I need for that investment.

Am I the only one that has had this experience with Drunk Elephant? Has anyone else struggled with any of their products? Leave a comment so I know I'm not alone!
